When pushing your B58 or S58 engine past stock power levels, OEM head bolts become a weak point. Head lift, gasket failure, and inconsistent torque can ruin an otherwise solid build. Our ARP Head Stud Kits solve that — delivering proven clamping force for high-boost, high-compression, and track-driven applications.
We offer three options based on your power goals and build needs:

ARP 2000 (Standard) – Rated to 190 ksi tensile strength. Ideal for bolt-on and mid-level builds.

Custom Age 625+ – Rated to 260 ksi tensile strength. Designed for aggressive setups targeting 800+ WHP.

Oversized Custom Age 625+ Kit – Our most robust solution, combining ARP’s strongest stud material with oversized insert washers for ultra-high boost builds. This version requires block machining and cylinder head clearance. Installation available through RK Autowerks.

Whether you’re racing, daily driving on E85, or preparing for a big turbo setup, these head studs offer the sealing integrity you need to keep things together at the limit.
Installation Notes:

Clean and chase all threads in the block prior to install

Apply ARP Ultra-Torque Lubricant on threads, nuts, and washers
-
Torque using a 3-step process (see specs below)

For water jacket contact, use ARP Thread Sealer

Oversized version requires machine work — install service available
Installation Instructions:

Clean all threads in the block thoroughly. Use an ARP thread chaser if needed for proper engagement.

Inspect all hardware for any defects, damage, or fitment issues.

If any studs thread into water jackets, apply ARP Thread Sealer to the block threads.

Screw each stud into the block hand tight only — do not torque.

Install the cylinder head and check for proper alignment.

Lubricate stud threads, washers, and nuts with ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant.

Install washers and nuts hand-tight.

Torque nuts in the correct sequence using the steps below.

Step 1: 30 ft-lbs
Step 2: 60 ft-lbs
Step 3: 90 ft-lbs
Custom Age 625+:
Step 1: 30 ft-lbs

Oversized Custom Age 625+:
Step 1: 50 ft-lbs
Step 2: 90 ft-lbs
Step 3: 130 ft-lbs
