Description
This page outlines potential damage-related charges applied to S63 core engine returns. These charges are only applied if your returned engine core fails inspection due to specific component damage. All cores are inspected upon arrival, and the appropriate deductions are made from your core refund based on the condition of returned parts.
These charges are not physical products. They serve as conditional line items that may be applied post-return if your core is found to be outside usable tolerance for a standard rebuild.
S63 Core Damage Charges:
-
Damaged Engine Block – $5,000.00
Deep cylinder scoring or any holes disqualify the block. If sleeving is possible, this charge applies. -
Damaged Cylinder Heads – up to $3,000.00
Includes cracked castings, dropped valves, or unrepairable seat/guide damage. Applies per bank. -
Damaged Crankshaft – $1,250.00
Journal scarring, spun bearings, or failure that prevents reuse in a rebuild. -
Damaged Upper Oil Pan – $1,500.00
Cracks, breaks, or thread damage that render the pan unusable. -
Damaged Lower Oil Pan – $600.00
Dented, cracked, or improperly repaired lower pans. -
Damaged Oil Pump – $700.00
Seized, worn-out, or broken oil pump assemblies.
Core Policy Overview:
Cores must be returned fully drained, undamaged, and properly packaged. Returned engines must be rebuildable to receive full core credit. Damage charges are assessed based on the results of RK Autowerks’ internal inspection and are deducted from the refundable core deposit.
For more detail, see our Engine Build Guide or contact us before returning your core.
